All parties promise top priority to education
HYDERABAD: All the political parties unanimously said that they would accord top priority to Health, Education, Agriculture, Science and Technology and incorporate the same in their election manifestoes which were yet to be released.
‘Jana Vignana Vedika’ (JVV) which was working on the topics among the masses organised a workshop People’s Manifesto here today.
The workshop was attended by representatives of all the political parties.
PCC official spokesperson N Thulasi Reddy said that if their party returned to power they would introduce Integrated Agriculture System (IAS) for overall development of the State. Congress party also would give equal importance to health and education for the healthwealth of society.
The Congress leader recalled that his party gave 143 assurances in the 2004 election manifesto and after coming to power, Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy implemented 139 assurances. He also said that several other programmes and schemes for the welfare of the people, which were not mentioned in the election manifesto, were implemented by the Government like the prestigious Rajiv Arogyasree.
Dismissing the Congress claims, TDP leader R Chandrasekhar Reddy said that his party would give good governance to the State and give top priority to eradicate corruption from society.
The TDP leader said that party would implement “All Free” Chandrababu Naidu’s slogan which would help the poor and middle classes in society. They would introduce innovative schemes in the place of the existing Rajiv Arogyasree. He also said that party would release a document on how the Government income should reach the poor people against the backdrop of the economic reforms.
PRP official spokesperson Mitra said that if his party comes to power decentralisation of the powers and Grama Swaraj would implemented.
They would also give top priority to health, education and employment. They would punish the sellers of spurious drugs. They would also put restrictions on `Special Economic Zones’.
CPM State committee member Y Venkateshwar Rao and CPI State leader K Ramakrishna criticised the State Government’s approach on development. The leaders opined that State Government’s prestigious `Jalayagnam’ programme would become another non-performing one in near future.
CPM ML New Democracy leader V Venkataramiah said that all the political parties discussing several issues without proper approach. All the problems were due to the globalisation. The political parties should give assurance to voters that they would be provided with safe drinking water.
TRS representative Srinivas Reddy said that his party would make children’s education free in the State. He said that his party was against corporate education.
