I partly agree with your statement that not many are voting because there is no right candidate.
But the main reason for not voting is - by the time one goes to the polling booth, his/her vote has already been casted by someone else. This is the main reason why people don't go. Thank god! this time the bells rang in EC's head and they have given the photo list at the polling booths so that not anyone can walk in and cast the vote on other's name.

My father and mother were so impressed with the present system of voting, they said we can go in the afternoon.. There is no need to stand in the hot sun during the whole day to wait for our turn and find out that our vote is already casted!! :-)

Also, as you have mentioned, not many educated people go to avail their casting of the vote because they do not find a right candidate.

True that we have to create an awareness about voting. And also we should make them understand about Loksatta. And finally, leave the option to the person to vote for whatever party that they opt for, afterall, we are living in so called democratic country...:-)
